Anita has over 20 years’ experience working with children and adults in music education, and her genuine care for people and desire to see them achieve, shines through in all her interactions. It was this passion for people combined with her teaching experiences which led Anita to pursue a Masters Degree in Counselling Practice. Anita is dedicated to seeing clients of all ages reach their true potential, and works with each individual to set goals that are personally meaningful and attainable.
In the therapeutic context, her particular interests lie in the theory and application of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy. Anita is a also a certified PEERS® Social Skills Program provider. Additionally, Anita’s contemporary and creative piano playing, along with her unique composition skills, are ideal for flexibly complementing the needs of children in therapy; talents previously utilised while employed as the Music Director and on-air pianist for Channel 9’s “Here’s Humphrey”.
Anita is a Certified Practising Counsellor and member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
